Naming Ceremonies

I will work with you as parents to create a personalised and meaningful occasion. The format of the ceremony usually includes bestowing a name on your child and declarations of promises and commitments from the parents and godparents and other important people in the child’s life.

Naming Ceremonies can be held in the home or at a venue of your choosing but not in a Church. Although a Naming Ceremony is secular in its origin, it is entirely the personal choice of the parents as to whether any religious content, from any faith, is included. The Ceremony can be either relaxed or formal. You have total freedom to create a memorable experience for your family and loved ones and I as your Celebrant will guide you through the creation of a ceremony which reflects the love you have for the newest member of your family.

There are many ways to enhance this type of ceremony: music or poetry, baby’s foot and handprints, a family sand ceremony, or perhaps a baby bouquet. Whichever you choose will make this ceremony unique to you and your beautiful new family member.
